Manaus Package with Day Trips

Manaus is a fascinating port city, buzzing with activity six days a week. The city, 1,770 miles northwest of Rio de Janeiro, is near the juncture of the Amazon -- or Rio Solimoes, as it is also known in this region -- and one of its giant tributaries, the Rio Negro. With no other major city within 600 miles, it is the jumping-off point for excursions into the rain forest.

If you are looking to stay in modern accommodations, but at the same time experience nature, this package is for you.

Manaus Package Includes:
  • Airfare (optional)
  • Hotel Accommodations
  • Airport/Hotel Transfers
  • Half-Day City Tour
  • Meeting of the Waters Tour
  • Taxes & Fees
 Manaus Daily Activities
meeting of the waters excursion

We will depart from the Tropical Hotel's pier heading down stream on the Rio Negro, passing the city of Manaus, the Manaus Floating Harbor, the Municipal Market and the meeting of the Solimoes and Negro Rivers (which forms the grand Amazon River) and hopefully we will spot some botos (fresh water dolphins). We will then visit the January Ecological reserve, where we will see the famous water-lilies, aquatic plants native to lakes in the rainforest. Following that, we will vist a handcraft fair where Native Indians sell their creations, utilizing traditional materials such as feathers, bones and seeds. Lunch is included on a floating restaurant. By motorized canoe, we will take an unforgettable ride in the channels and creeks (depending on the water level), and then return to the hotel.

half day city tour

The tour starts at the Buzzing Municipal Market, observing the daily life of the locals (Amazonenses), and having a partial view of the floating harbor. Following this,we will take a walk from Praça Heliodoro Balbi (also known as Praça da Polícia) up to Palácio Rio Negro, on the way getting to know more about the history of Manaus and finally visiting Teatro Amazonas (The Opera House), which is the symbol Manaus's period of wealth during the rubber boom. On the return, the tour will stop at Praça da República to acknowledge its architecture and monuments.
