Sample Itinerary:
Day 1 - Depart Rio de Janeiro for Florianopolis. Guide will be waiting for you outside baggage claim and take you to your hotel. Day/Night at Leisure
Day 2 - You will do the half day city tour which begins at the historical center of the city with a visit to the Metropolitan Cathedral, built in 1753 and undergoing renovation today. Then you will visit the Public Market to learn about local gastronomy with Portuguese influence. A trip to the local handcraft market is also included where you will have a panoramic view of the city. Night of Leisure, TGW will give you a night by night itinerary of the best things to do as far as restaurants, nightclubs and bars.
Day 3 - Day at leisure to chill on the beach or choose an optional excursion like surfing lessons. Night at Leisure.
Day 4 - Transfer to Florianopolis Airport.

Florianopolis (or Floripa, as the island is affectionately known by locals) is one of the world’s best surf spots and most beautiful locations, blessed with 42 pristine beaches, lush rolling hills, soft white sand dunes and sparkling lagoons. In addition, Floripa offers world-class dining and nightlife, as well as a tremendous array of extreme sports activities to please even the most discerning adventure enthusiast. Last but not least, Floripa offers a wealth of cultural attractions, including traditional Brazilian fairs and markets, Azorean architecture, and historical points of interest such as ancient forts used to defend the island against pirates and invaders.
Floripa is as renowned throughout Latin America for its golden beaches as it is for the golden-haired bombshells that abound—Germans, Polish and Italians colonized the South of Brazil, explaining the Giselle Bündchen look-a-like phenomenon that you will see all over the island. Most consider the 'crowned jewel' area of the island to be the region in the center of the east side of the island, in particular the Praia Mole and Lagoa da Conceição areas. Here visitors are enchanted by Floripa's most stunning and unique natural beauty, with a number of fantastic beaches as well as lush green mountains, soft white sand dunes and the beautiful Lagoa da Conceição lagoon itself, which aside from stunning visuals also offers a large variety of leisure and sporting options such as boating, kiting, wakeboarding, fishing and swimming. - Surfing: Floripa is widely recognized as the surf capital of Brazil and is renowned for year-round consistent swell, diversity of breaks and crystal clear water. Floripa has waves that cater to all surf abilities, from first time surfers to the most experienced and hardcore big wave riders. The quality of the waves on beaches such as Joaquina and Praia Mole have encouraged successive national and international surfing championships such as the WCT (South America´s only WCT pro surf event) to be held here.
- Safety: Florianopolis is one of the safest cities in Brazil. It has a higher standard of living and a sleepy island feel. Most of the people that live on the island have moved there to get away from the crazy big city lifestyle.
- Beautiful Locals: The South of Brazil was settled by German and Polish farmers in the early 19th century, and over thegenerations their DNA has mixed with Portuguese and Brazilian blood to producethat distinctive dusky, dark blonde look.
