1. Nightlife: Barcelona never sleeps. The city has set the benchmark for the international electronic music scene and dances to the sounds of the world's top DJs. 7. Sports & Outdoor Activities -With the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, large sports facilities were built in the city. These facilities are used for important shows, professional training and for the general public to practise sports. Thanks to Barcelona's exceptional location, surrounded by mountains and next to the sea, it offers a wide range of possibilities. All water sports are possible with courses and activities organised in the marinas. Sailing, windsurfing, scuba diving or snorkelling are just some examples of what can be done. In the city you can also find a wide variety of sports activities: football and athletics fields, swimming pools, ice rinks, horse riding circuits, shooting ranges. All these spaces are well-communicated by public transport, as well as the golf courses, which are situated in nearby towns.
8. Beaches - Barcelona’s coastline stretches for kilometres with each section more popularly known by a different name such as the Costa Brava and the Costa Dorada. The beaches along the coastline offer an excellent escape from the baking heat which holds the country under its grip during the summer months; but those expecting white sands and crystal clear waters could be disappointed. Barcelona is also known for its important port and therefore it would be unrealistic to expect to find Caribbean quality beaches around Barcelona.
9. FC Barcelona & Camp Nou - The city is home to one of football's greatest teams, the FC Barcelona. Their game is a guarantee of a fantastic spectacle, and the team is a fixture at all the great competitions. You can also visit the largest stadium in Spain, and you’ll have the chance to get a close-up view of the club’s trophies in the museum.
