Buenos aires Packing Guide

1. Clothes

Summer (DECember. - March.): Average temperature - 76°f
DAY: comfortable footwear, buenos aiRES IS A BIG CITY SO YOU WILL DO A LOT OF WALKING, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE GOING SHOPPING. SHORTS AND T-SHIRTS FOR THE DAY. MAKE SURE TO TAKE TRUNKS OR A BIKINI TO CHILL IN THE POOL. PLEASE DO NOT DRESS LIKE A TOURIST (i.e. Fanny pack, Hawaiian shirt, etc.)
NIGHT: Since we will be taking you to BUENOS AIRES'S hottest clubs, you will have to dress to impress. Take a couple of slacks, jeans, social shoes and some nice shirts (i.e. muscle tees, long sleeve/short sleeved dress shirts, or polo’s). Nightlife gear in BUENOS AIRES is laid back during the summer. As long as you have a nice shirt, decent shoes, and jeans, you will be fine. PLEASE NO SANDALS, TENNIS SHOES, or T-SHIRTS. TAKE A DENIM OR THIN JACKET AS WELL, SOME NIGHTS IT MAY GET A LITTLE NIPPY.

Winter (JUL. - SEP.): aVERAGE TEMPERATURE - 40 °F
DAY: COMFORTABLE FOOTWEAR, JEANS OR COMFORTABLE TROUSERS, LONGSLEAVED T-SHIRTS, SWEATERS, WARM JACKET, SCARF, BATHING SUIT (SOME OF THE 4/5 STAR HOTELS HAVE HEATED POOLS AND SAUNAS)
NIGHT: DRESS IS A LITTLE MORE DRESSY THAN THE SUMMER, ALTHOUGH IT SOMETIMES DOES DEPEND ON THE CLUB. s long as you have a nice shirt, decent shoes, and jeans, you will be fine.

AUTUMN (MAR. - JUL.) & SPRING (OCT. - DEC.): AVERAGE TEMP. - 65 °F
DAY/NIGHT - FOLLOW A MIX BETWEEN WINTER AND SUMMER. it tends to rain more in autumn or spring, so don't forget a light rain jacket.

2. Money

it's never cool to walk around with tons of cash in latin america!!! Although buenos aires is one of the safest cities in south america, there is still a lot of pick pocketing. Take a couple of credit cards (VISA & MASTERCARD), your ATM card, and just enough cash. Take however much you want to spend each time you leave your hotel along with one credit card and your ATM card. ALWAYS STORE IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS, TRAVELERS’ CHECKS, & EXTRA CASH IN YOUR ROOM’S SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX.
Average spender: US$ 70 a day (restaurants and street food, beers at the beach, and nightlife) All-Out spender: US$ 170 a day (nicer restaurants, optional tours, drinks at the beach, & nightlife)

3. Identification
Driver’s License & Passport. PASSPORT IS MORE FOR OFFICIAL USE. LEAVE YOUR PASSPORT IN YOUR SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX. TAKE YOUR LICENSE TO GO OUT AT NIGHT OR A PHOTOCOPY OF YOUR PASSPORT.

4. Other
Sunglasses, Camera, Disposable Camera, Pepto or Tums, Sun Screen, Cap, Condoms (Always practice safe sex on vacation), Iron (some hotels do not provide).
Also keep in mind that Electric power in Argentina is 220 volt, 50-cycle alternating current. Power outlets have 2 cylindrical holes or 2 flat holes with ground connection. It is convenient to bring an adaptor for these outlets to use your electric devices without problems.

5. What not to Take!!!
Anything that is priceless or you can not live without, Laptop, Excessive amount of Credit Cards (only take 1 or 2), & Excessive Amounts of Cash.
